I am a fully qualified Level 3 Sports Massage Therapist and currently in my second year of a sports and exercise science degree, therefore I have a passion for anything exercise related; I am gaining the knowledge and experience to understand the physiological and biomechanical involvement within my interest of running and generally anything exercise related. I am generally interested in how the human body functions and it amazes me how much stress we put our bodies under but they tend to adapt and overcome!
I offer soft tissue sports massage which utilises specific techniques and stretches to help obtain maximum performance and physical conditioning. On your first session with myself you will have a postural examination and a history check so that I can perform the correct massage technique and explain the most appropriate exercises for you to complete after our session.

During the session the following techniques may be used:
Muscle energy technique which involves mobilisation of restricted joints
Neuromuscular technique (getting rid of those knots!)
Soft Tissue Release which targets specific areas of tension within the muscle belly
I offer pre and post event massage too

A general sports massage would involve treatment to warm the tissues and relax the muscles (effleurage), then it would move on to petrissage which works on the deeper tissues and stretches the muscle fibres and then we move onto soft tissue release, neuromuscular technique or muscle energy techniques depending on what is required.
